Actuarial Diversity Scholarships 2017
Actuarial Foundation is asking application for Actuarial Diversity Scholarships. If you are an African American Student then you can apply for this Scholarship. You will get up to $4000 from Actuarial Diversity Scholarships.

Scholarships are awarded as follows:
  • High school senior applying for his/her freshman year of college - $1,000.
  • College freshman applying for his/her sophomore year of college - $2,000.
  • College sophomore applying for his/her junior year of college - $2,000. 
  • College junior applying for his/her senior year of college - $3,000. 
  • College senior applying for graduate school or a continuing graduate student - $4,000. 
All awards are offered annually and are non-renewable. Each scholarship recipient will be assigned an actuarial mentor as a personal resource to answer questions about the actuarial field and actuarial exams and to offer assistance in pursuit of a career in the actuarial profession.

Eligibility for Actuarial Diversity Scholarships

In order to be eligible for this scholarship student must

  • Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate and graduate award.
  • Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Emphasis will be placed on math or actuarial courses. High school seniors must have a minimum ACT math score of 28 OR SAT math score of 600.
  • Must have at least one birth parent who is a member of one of the following minority groups: Black/African American, Hispanic, or Native American Indian.
  • Must have the intent to pursue a career in the actuarial profession.
  • This award is for U.S. and international students.

How to apply for the Actuarial Diversity Scholarships:

The Actuarial Foundation’s application mode is via Online. It is important that your application form is fully and accurately completed.

In addition to a completed online application, the student must submit the following: 
  • A one- to two-page personal statement that includes responses to the three questions listed on the application; two letters of recommendation; 
  • A current college transcript (if the transcript shows grades for only one college semester, the student should provide the last transcript from his/her prior educational institution as well); 
  • An official ACT or SAT score (incoming freshmen only). Letters of recommendation must support the student's math or science aptitude, academic achievement, leadership, business acumen, and communication skills; and must be from a recent actuarial, math or science teacher, professor, adviser or employer. Signed letters of recommendation must be on school letterhead and include the nominator's name, title and contact information.
  • The letters must be forwarded in sealed envelopes by the nominator or be emailed directly from the nominator's school email address to the foundation at the address provided. 
  • The application and all supporting materials must be sent to the address provided, postmarked by the deadline date. 
Please note: Questions regarding the scholarship should be directed to the foundation at the email address provided. The foundation requests that students not call.
